Grade 8 Inter-House English & Marathi Elocution Competition 2026
From Thoughts to Words
The Inter house English and Marathi Elocution Competition for the students of Std. VIII was conducted on 3rd August 2026, at Saraswati Vidyalaya ,Rabodi, Thane, in the school auditorium with great enthusiasm. The competition aimed to nurture studentsβ public speaking skills, encourage critical thinking and provide them with a platform to express their ideas confidently on contemporary and thought-provoking issues.
The competition was conducted in two sessions, beginning with the English Elocution Competition, followed by the Marathi Elocution Competition. The English section was judged by Mrs. Priti Yadav and Mrs. Gauri Sawant, while the Marathi section was judged by Mrs. Sonali Naphade and Mr. Kiran Maharse.
The participants delivered impressive speeches on a range of thought-provoking topics, including:
- The Need for an Efficient Transport System.
- Should Rooftop Gardens Be Mandatory on Buildings?
- Has Education Become Commercialized Due to the Dominance of Private Schools and Coaching Classes?
- Encouraging Sports, Arts, and Literature in School Life.
The young speakers displayed creativity, awareness, confidence, and clarity of thought while presenting diverse perspectives on these relevant issues. Their well-structured speeches and confident delivery reflected their ability to articulate ideas effectively and engage the audience.
The judges appreciated the participants for their confidence, content, clarity of thought, pronunciation, and eloquence. They also offered valuable feedback and constructive suggestions to help the students further enhance their public speaking and presentation skills.
The winners were felicitated for their outstanding performances and received a well-deserved round of applause for their excellent communication skills and impressive stage presence.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the respected judges, teachers, participants and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
Overall, the English and Marathi Elocution Competition was a resounding success. It provided students with an enriching opportunity to develop their public speaking abilities, think critically, and express their views with confidence and conviction. The event truly gave young voices a platform to speak, inspire and make a difference.
