Guru Purnima Celebration

Guru Purnima, also known as ‘Vyasa Purnima’, is a festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers. The day is celebrated in remembrance of the Maharshi ‘Ved Vyaasa’, the creator of the epic ‘Mahabharta’. This year it was celebrated on July 27th.

We Sarasvis celebrated this occasion with a lot of fervour. The students felicitated their Gurus [teachers] with the auspicious coconut, betel leaf and betel nut along with creative mementos crafted by the students.

Shlokas were chanted by Class 5 students in praise of their Gurus followed by an exuberant dance performance by the students of Class 5.

The Vice Principal in her speech thanked the students for their efforts and impressed upon them the significance and importance of Guru Purnima.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Games Captain of the Junior School Captain.
