Samatvam Yoga Uchyate’
“Equanimity is Yoga”
'Exercise' should be regarded as tribute to the heart.
Saraswati Vidyalaya High School began the academic year of 2021-22 with the enthusiastic tiny toddlers of pre-primary section celebrating 'International Yoga Day' on 21st June. Since the theme for the year was ' Yoga from Home' & 'Yoga with Family', the enthusiastic parents also joined.
"Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in wellbeing. It is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Even though yoga originated in ancient India, recognising its universal appeal, the United Nations proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.
The class teachers of SVPT school demonstrated various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises were taken and all the tiny tots performed sitting and standing asanas with ardent zeal. Importance of these were explained simultaneously.
The online celebration of Yoga Day ended with teachers and parents appreciating our miniature yoga masters.
The children were encouraged to practice yoga regularly to remain fit and improve concentration.
