73rd Independence Day Celebration


The 73rd year of Independence was usheredin with unprecedented fervor and solemnity on 15th Aug 2019. The day began with the hoisting of the tricolour by the Chairperson and Administrator of the school and the singing of the National Anthem followed by the flag song.

Mst. Tanish Wanve the captain of the Sr. School Council welcomed everyone with arousing speech. After that the sarasvis of Pre-Primary regaled everyone with the popular song “Hum HongeKamyaab”. There was an impressive parade of some kids who were dressed as freedom fighters. The miniature SavitribaiPhule, JyotibaPhule, Bhagat Singh, ShivajiMaharaj and Mahatma Gandhi among others literally brought them to life. This was followed by a dance ballet“Deshache Veer Jawan”. The Jr. and Sr. House group singing competition was held next. The soul-stirringsong sung by Sr.House revived the dormant patriotism in us millenials.

As keeping in mind that we were also celebrating RakshaBandhan on this day. Jr. House presented a gamut of beautiful songs celebrating the relationship between brothers and sisters.The Chairperson of SVPT, Principal and Vice Principal then gave speeches impressing upon the students the meaning of independence and how we should value it. The Principal also highlighted the hardships being faced by the flood affected people in Maharashtra and asked the children whether they were ready to contribute to the cause, to which she got a resounding ‘YES’ from the Sarasvis.

The celebration ended with a vote of thanks by Jr. Council Cultural Leader Mst. Rishi Chavan, who wound up his speech saying ‘Hamari Pehchaan Sirf Yeh Hai , Ki Hum Hindustani Hai!’
