Walking the Path of Devotion

"Mauli Mauli!" echoed through the corridors of Saraswati Vidyalaya on Friday 24th July 2026, as the school celebrated Ashadi Ekadashi with deep devotion, vibrant traditions and immense enthusiasm. The event beautifully organised by the students of Std VIII offered everyone an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the timeless values of the Warkari tradition.

The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal Mrs Poonam Bhogle, Coordinators Mrs Rakhi Khanna and Mr Kapil Kulkarni, Admin Heads Miss Devyani Shukla and Mr Vinayak Shinde, teachers and students whose wholehearted participation added warmth and significance to the occasion.

Dressed in traditional attire the students led a colourful Dindi procession carrying saffron flags, Tulsi Vrindavans and Palkhi, while singing devotional abhangs in praise of Lord Vitthal. The rhythmic beats of the tal and mridang filled the atmosphere with devotion creating an experience reminiscent of the sacred pilgrimage to Pandharpur.

The cultural programme reflected the essence of Ashadi Ekadashi through a melodious group song presented by the students, followed by a graceful dance performance depicting the devotion and joy of the Warkaris. The highlight of the celebration was the energetic traditional Fugadi performed together by the teachers and students. Their spirited participation beautifully symbolised unity, togetherness and the joy of celebrating our cultural roots.

The Ashadi Ekadashi Dindi was more than a cultural event—it was a meaningful journey that inspired students to appreciate India's rich traditions while embracing values of humility, devotion, discipline and collective harmony. The celebration concluded with hearts filled with gratitude and the resonating chants of "Vitthal Vitthal, Jai Hari Vitthal!", leaving behind cherished memories and a renewed sense of cultural pride.
