The 42nd Annual Sports Meet of Saraswati Vidyalaya High School Rabodi, Thane was held on 29th November 2025, with a remarkable zeal and a vibrant energy, transforming the school ground into a hub of enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The event stood as a powerful reminder of how sports nurture resilience, sharpen focus, and build character among young learners.
The ceremony commenced in the esteemed presence of Chief Guests Mr. Pankaj Shirsat DCP (Traffic), Thane and Mr. Devansh Singh Ex Sarasvi, Arm Wrestler .The programme was dignified further by the gracious presence of Chairperson of the Trust & Administrator of the school Mrs. M.S. Korde, Treasurer Mr.Girdhar Patel, Member of the Trust Mr. Jignesh Patel, Administrator Mrs. Deepali Patil, and the visionary Principal Mrs. Poonam Bhogle.
Also present were the dedicated co-ordinators—Mrs. Meenakshi Bangera, Mrs. Rupali Pawar, Mrs. Rakhi Khanna and Mr. Kapil Kulkarni, along with the efficient Admin Heads—Mrs. Devyani Shukla and Mr. Vinayak Shinde. The event was additionally honoured by dignitaries from the sister concern school, Saraswati Vidyalaya, G.B. Road, Thane.
The formal proceedings began with the hoisting of the school flag, followed by a poised and confident salute by the Games Captain. The inspection of troops showcased the discipline and spirited determination of students, as the houses—Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Kaveri, and Krishna—marched smartly in unison. The audience’s spirited applause elevated the atmosphere, lending vibrancy and encouragement to all participants.
The prestigious torch relay, led by State and National level champions, stood as a radiant symbol of unity, determination, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence. The mascot for the year, the Queen Bee, was chosen to signify leadership, cooperation, and perseverance, perfectly aligning with the ethos of the Sports Meet.
A vibrant series of displays by students of Std. VI, VII, and VIII added colour, energy, and elegance to the event. The Yoga, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, and Mallakhamb presentations showcased remarkable strength, agility, and discipline, truly captivating the audience. The Aerobics routines and pyramid formations further highlighted the students’ exceptional coordination, balance, and teamwork. The crown jewel of the evening was the Lezim display, which artistically illustrated Shivaji Maharaj’s dream of Swaraj, filling the arena with pride and passion. The Tug of War, Relay, and Slow Cycling events added excitement and energy to the day, keeping both participants and spectators on the edge of their seats.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was a proud moment of recognition, applauding the hard work, commitment, and commendable performances of the winners. Behind the success of this grand event were the tireless contributions of the teachers, support staff, volunteers, whose dedication ensured smooth functioning throughout the day.
The Chief Guest Mr. Pankaj Shirsat in his speech motivated the students to embrace every challenge with determination, highlighting that sports teach resilience, teamwork, and the spirit of perseverance essential for life. Echoing this, the Principal Mrs Poonam Bhogle in her address encouraged the students to dream big and push beyond their limits, emphasizing that the courage, persistence, and unity displayed on the field are the same qualities that shape champions in life. She urged everyone to carry the spirit of sportsmanship into their daily journey, turning every challenge into an opportunity for growth. The Sports Meet drew to a grand close as the Chief Guest ceremoniously lowered the flag and officially declared the event concluded, marking the end of a day filled with enthusiasm, memorable achievements, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
